About Learning English

The biggest problem most people face in learning english is fear of failure. This can stop you from practicing, the most important component in learning English quickly and successfully.

Even if you are learning or studying English at an accredited English language school, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t learn outside of your formal English lessons.

learning-englishThe best English learning method is to immerse yourself in it.  Take your notes in English, read  English books, listen to English music, radio, and others talking English. Ask others to coinverse with you only in English. The more you immerse yourself in the English language, the faster you’ll learn!

People who speak English as their native language have a natural flow which ESL / EFL students can learn by imitation.

Studying grammar and vocabulary, completing tests and exercises will rapidly improve your grasp of English. If you’re never tested, you will never know how to gauge your progress.

Learning English in a language school

GEOS Gold Coast provides a comprehensive programme of courses for all students of all levels of ability, focussing on improving English speaking, reading, listening and writing skills.

GEOS Gold Coast has a communicative skills-based approach to all its English courses. This encourages the student to interact with other students, their teachers and local Australians to improve your English in real-life situations.

In addition to helping you select a study path from the courses below, we can also provide information on a range of other exciting courses we have on offer throughout the year.

Course Example - General English Courses are conducted in 10-week modules, with class sizes varying, an  average of 16 per class.

An English level test and course orientation is given prior to commencement. There are progress tests every 5 weeks (Registered Course).

The General English course incorporates specialist afternoon lessons, such as Telephone English, Business English, English for Tourism and Hospitality, and English for Presentations.

Our innovative approach helps students to develop their skills as they progress, and our new text books and real life material are effective in motivating and engaging students. We also have guest speakers  invited to individual classes. One–on–one counseling sessions give students detailed feedback from their exams, which test every skill area every 5 weeks so students will be able to easily see their progress.
